Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal for the next four months of my life is to incorporate horticultural crops such as tomatoes, onions, and vegetables in my farm. Since they fetch a good price in the market I thought it would be wise if I planted variety then later focus on what is highly preferred in the market. I am hopeful that with this investment I will definitely get a financial breakthrough.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I am now happier because my family no longer strains to put food to the table as compared to before. Apart from that, the burden of paying school fees for my children has slightly reduced. I feel relieved since I no longer strain my self by working several hours doing casual work
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in that I will have an abundant harvest which will help me pay school fees for my children. It feels nice to have means to cater for the most demanding responsibility as a parent. This will save me from doing several casual jobs in a day in order to raise enough money to sustain my family. I will also spend less time looking for casual jobs since I will be fully engaged in my farm.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because as at the moment, I concentrate so much in working on my farm rather than going for casual labour. This makes me less worried about my family because they will have enough food. With that commitment, My farm is now doing well and more productive. I am also expecting high produce next harvesting season
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal for the next four months is to begin planting short-season crops such as vegetables and tomatoes. Being a farmer, I have been planting long season crops such as maize. This has not only been taking a very long duration to get the output but also, most of the time, it has been affected by armyworm leading to alt of losses being incurred. The harvest of these vegetables will also have a ready market as am planning to supply them to the nearby secondary school at a slightly higher price as school fees for my children

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now happier because my family no longer strain to put food to the table as it was four months ago when there were no rains. The area had been hit by extreme famine. At the moment, there is an abundant supply of vegetables and other short season crops hence I no longer spend so much money to purchase them

I expect my life to change in the next six months because with the sale of short season crops, It will generate income at a shorter duration. The income generated will enable me to clear my children school fees as I am planning to supply them to the nearby secondary school hence ready market as well as at higher prices. I will also improve my family living standards as I will be in a position to provide for their needs

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different now compared to four months ago because I am nor worried about what my children would eat. I have some maize grains that we harvested. I have also planted some more maize because I had the funds to buy planting materials, thanks to Givedirectly.

I am planning to start vegetable within my farm. I have ways had a passion in farming and I want to do this so that the proceeds can help me pay my children's school fees. I prefer vegetable farming because it does not require so much resources.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am able to feed well and I have enough stock of food. I was able to plant on time during the last planting season because I had money to buy seeds and fertilizer. Previously, I used to harvest so little because I used to plant late or not plant at all for lack of money to buy the seeds and fertilizer.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectaion in the near future is to be financially stable. I want to reach a point where I can pay my children's school fees comfortably without worry. I want to generally improve our lifestyle as family.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
my life currently is different from how it was in the last four months in that I pay school fees on time and also I'm able to buy seeds and fertilizers and do planting on time unlike before where I could have struggled alot to get the money to buy the seeds.

The biggest difference is that in the last four months I was struggling so much to get money to pay for the school fees for my children, But right now I'm able to paid school fees on time and get enough time to do other activities to earn an income to support my family in meeting basic needs.

In the next six months, I would have fully transitioned to horticulture farming which will enable me to earn some income to pay the school for my children and even meet other household needs.

I am planning to venture into cabbages, tomatoes,beans and potato farming so that they can boost my school fees payment.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different because these transfers have reduced my debt borrowing and stress.Earlier, I appeared weak physically, demoralized and I stopped going to church because I could not feed my large family and paying school fees was quite a challenge but with these transfers I will start farming projects that can aid in payment of school fees.

The biggest difference is that these transfers has motivated to do farming on time because the first transfer I used to till land by hiring oxen and the second I used to buy farm inputs like fertilizer. Before I was more stressed and demoralized because I was overwhelmed by my kids school fees and could not afford fertilizer for my maize farm hence low productivity.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I had a big dream and passion to do farming, I started with planting cabbages but at the middle of the season I lacked money to buy fertilizers so I got low yields. This was my biggest hardship in my life.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at the middle of day when I am able to see my daily progress being successful. Especially when I see my farm
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I'm planning to use my transfer as a capital to start farming, planting cabbages for business. It's easy to do it and has ready market
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Starting dairy farming was my greatest achievement I'm always proud of, even though I had to sell them to gather for school fees for my children.
