How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than how it would have been had I not received the transfer. This is because I now own a piece of land and I get to practice farming. Before receiving the transfer, I had nowhere to even plant vegetables since I had been given a small place by parents to build a house only. With this, I was always strained on our daily expenditure and most time, I would have nothing to save so as to later use in paying school fees for my children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by giving out financial aid and I do not see anything that they do not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my transfer, I spent KES 25000 to buy a piece of land. I settled on this so that after building a house, I would have a space to use as my garden. In addition, I spent KES 28000 to build my family a house in my newly acquired piece of land. I used the remaining amount on food and other household necessities.

Out this, I will use 5 litres for home consumption and sell 15 litres at Ksh 35 a litre. This will give me and my family financial mileage and fend for them without much hustle.

I spend my entire day working in a nearby posh household working as a casual laborer. My work entails weeding flower beds until late in the evening. Reuniting with my children in the evening and seeing them happy, is the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is inadequacy of finance to put my children in a better School. As a single parent, I have been struggling to make ends meet since I work as a casual laborer in the village. Owing to this, I have been unable to raise enough School fees to educate my 4 children in a better school who are all in Primary level.
