How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have always dreamed of establishing my dry goods business. I needed to gather enough money to purchase slippers, sanders, dishes etc.. In doing so, I bought 1 bag of slippers and enough dishes to begin business immediately. GD has done me well. I am so excited about this project. All thanks to GiveDirectly for this awesome life changing opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has been doing very well with the entire program that has changed my life for good. I am so pleased to have benefited from this unique program. A big thanks to the entire team at GD for their big role played in my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My major priority was to begin my dry goods business. Therefore, as soon as I received my transfer, I used a huge portion of my money to buy 1 bag of slippers and dishes for sale. Portion of my transfer was used as transportation. My balance transfer was saved. I am very grateful to GD for changing my life.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No. I had plan of buying land in Cestos and build my house. I also had plan of doing business. I have always been wanting to buy my land and do business but couldn't afford due to financial difficulties. Immediately I got my first transfer from GiveDirectly,I was very happy because my dream of buying land in Cestos and buildIng my house was achieve. Things have been very thought on me and my family. Thank God for bringing GiveDirectly to our aid.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly have done nothing wrong. GiveDirectly gave us money to improve our lives from grass to grace. They are making poverty to go away. The unconditional cash will help us to put our children's future together.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I will use my most recent transfer to buy my land. I didn't cash out my first transfer. When I received my second transfer,I'm planing to go and cash out and use five hundred United States Dollars to buy my land. I will use my balance money to start selling fish and oil.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I've been longing to buy a piece of land to build my house and also start a new business(fish sale) in Cestos. In doing so, I would have another source of income to take care of me and my family basic needs. I couldn't have achieved both of my goals initially because upon receiving my first transfer from GiveDirectly, my primary objective was to renovate my old and depleted house. I used most of my first transfer to buy zinc and change the old thatch on my house. However, with this second transfer, I can purchase one lot of land and established a new business (fish sale) which is my ultimate goal at the moment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own judgement, GiveDirectly has been very fair in selecting who benefits from this life changing opportunity. They give poor people like us hope by empowering us with cash to improve our lives. On the contrary, I personally see nothing GiveDirectly doesn't do well. I'm so grateful to be part of this unique opportunity that has changed my entire life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My desire of purchasing one lot of land to build my house coupled with my dream of establishing a fish business in Cestos has always been my primary aim. Therefore, when I collect my second transfer, I will spend portion of the money on purchasing one lot of land in Cestos to build my house. I will also use the remaining portion of my transfer to establish my fish business. This new fish business that would be established from GiveDirectly money transfer will create an additional source of income for me and my household.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I receive the cash transfer from Givedirectly, I plan on starting another bigger business which include, slippers, lappa, clothes, and other goods that will increase my capitol and also feed my family and myself. Now I am selling fufu to sustain my family which is very little and can not provide for our daily needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Some months ago my small sister Gifty Joe was very ill for months and could not get well.We took her to most of the hospitals here but doctors refuse her and said her condition was worse. My family and I took her to the native doctor. After some weeks she started to get well gradually. Now is is very well and doing everytging normal again. This make me very happy and brought me so much joy. I was afraid to lose my sister.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
One of the majoy challenges I'm faced with right now is ,there is no school building in my town or community for my child to attend .The one we had here is currently broken down. The children are home all day growing up and are not going to school. This breaks me down alot when I see my child not in school. The next challenge I am faced with is the road connectivity here, from my town to the juction before getting a bike is very deplorable, when I have my goods , like cassava , fufu and coconut there is, no way to take it to Little Liberia, where the market is to sell because of the road conditions . We the community dweller sometimes fix the road but it doesn't last long. The bridge leading to the town is very bad and broken down , bike can not come in my community.
