After finishing Form Four, I decided to pursue tailoring school. My current aim is to complete my training there and then move on to journalism school to pursue my career. Journalism has always been my passion, and I have full confidence that I can succeed in this field. I am planning to save up enough money to enroll in journalism school.

When I received my transfers, I was filled with excitement. I swiftly made a plan and decided to buy a goat. Presently, I own two goats, and I bought another one for $25. Owning goats will aid me in facing future challenges as I can sell them to meet my needs. Additionally, I wanted to improve my appearance, so I invested $9 in some good clothes since the ones I had were worn out.

My top priority right now is starting college, and I'm delighted to share that I will be doing just that this October. My dream has always been to study journalism and communication, a passion I have had since I was a little girl. Thanks to the combined efforts of my mother and me, we've managed to save enough from transfers to cover the course fees. This opportunity means a lot to me because I'm confident that completing college will lead to a good job, ultimately improving my family's financial situation.

Thr organization is doing a great job in my opinion because the finances have been quite life changing to myself and my family. I absolutely have no idea how long I would stayed home without attending school were it not for me receiving the funds when I did. Therefore I an grateful and happy for my enrollment into the program.

Since I still happen to be in school, as soon as I realised I had received the finances, I decided to use it to pay for my tuition fee. This is because I had not been attending school for over a week because my parents had failed to pay school fees for me. Luckily the funds from the organization came in at the right time, and I eventually managed to pay school fees worth KES 2,000 with the transfers I had received. I still have a debt of KES 13,500 that I still have not cleared, but the little amount I paid helped me resume class. I then went ahead and used the balance of KES 1,000 left and bought two hens accumulating to four because I wanted to invest in poultry farming so that I could eventually help myself financially and in paying my school fees when the need arises.

Getting the MPESA alert on that day was a true surprise that I did not expect at the time. I was busy doing the dishes when I got the message and I nearly dropped some of them due to excitement. I screamed with much joy and happiness could be seen all over my face. I went on to withdraw the amount the following day and put it to good use.

The biggest impact receiving the funds has brought is that I have job been able to expand my project by adding more chicken to what I already had and now I have a total of four. This is a welcome relief as when I am done with school, I can fully concentrate on my already running project.

The KES 1200 received from GiveDirectly has been a major boost to my prospects of becoming a poultry farmer while still in school.
