How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The only major goal that I have right now is to keep supporting my two children in school until they can graduate and become better people in the future. I believe that if they are educated, they will be a great help to me when I am old.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by improving the lives of poor people like us without any string attached to it, they are also kind in talking to me anytime I am being interview, I don't have anything bad to say about GiveDirectly because they are okay to me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to buy motorcycle for my husband so that we can run it as a business for the family. Owning a motorcycle is a great help to my family because it reduces our transportation expenses and it is a very good business in our town right now.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On November 11, 2021 during the morning hours, I was just outside of my house talking with some of my friends when a boy from our town came to tell us that he has received a transfer message from GiveDirectly on his mother phone when he was at a network location. We all went on the football field quickly to check our accounts too. When I checked mine, I saw the money sent from GiveDirectly and was very happy that day.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before GiveDirectly came to our town, I never had any money to pay for my children school fees; my house was disorganized and even the savings I had was not improving at all. Through GiveDirectly transfer, I was able to settle my children school expenses; I bought furnitures for my house so that in my house can look much better and I also increased my savings.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the most recent transfer to buy my house furnitures and I bought food also. I used the remaining amount to pay my children school fees and save the balance for future purposes.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If we( my household) is successful to receive this transfer, we will buy motor bike for my husband to run as traffic bike to support the home. We have made this planed long time to buy motor bike for the purpose explained above, but we have not had money to implement that. The sticks we cut from the Bush, sell to have money for that purpose price has dropped drastically. And the little money we realised from the sale , we are not able to keep all because the family has to survive. Meaning we used most of the money for the family up keeping. SO, if we are successful to receive the cash from GD when we are successful, this will be a huge opportunity for us to implement our long time anticipated business plan.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Yes, I was happy between the time made mentioned of, and even happy now the fact that I have life and well in my body. Although in last June my father passed, but besides that, I am always happy for having life and able to find meal everyday to eat. To add to my happiness, GD is here with great news of sending me cash when I am successful in the program.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Our major challenge here as family is how to raise money to support our household and implement our business plan. We considered raising money as the major challenge because almost everything here is about momey. And to get money here is very difficult. The sticks we sell to earn money don't have good price these days as mentioned earlier. As such, raising money is our major challenge.
