How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
my life has changed because i have a passport now. i have had the desire to go to South Africa for a long time but i could not go because i did not have a passport. now that i have the passport am just waiting for the Covid 19 pandemic to end so that i can start my journey.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
i feel all the process are done fairly and with a lot of transparency and i can not point at some thing that give directly does not do well

when i received my second transfer i processed my passport because i want to go to South Africa. the remaining amount was used to buy food and other basic needs.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
This has been one the highlights of in 2020, this money brought happiness in the faces of everyone, for once I saw people extremely happy in this village. Kids were playiful because of full stomach.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have always wanted to go to South Africa to order things and sell in Malawi, this has always been my favorite type of business but I didn't have passport. Now I have one, after the second transfer I will be able to travel to South Africa.
