How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than how it would have been had I not received the transfer because I have been able to fence my compound. Fencing it has enabled me to concentrate on my poultry project. Due to this, my chicken no longer destroy my vegetables and that of my neighbors thus my relationship with them has improved.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well by considering women to men because it made us felt that women can be useful in the society and I do not see anything that they did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer, I bought two dairy cows as an investment. When they reproduce, my income from dairy farming will increase. This has always been my investment dream since it will help me educate my children with minimal stress.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
At the moment, I am very happy and no longer worry much since I know that my project will soon kick successfully. On top of that, my husband has successfully expanded his business and this has brought a lot of happiness in our home because of increased profits generated from the business
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I got the message that transfers have been sent, I was very happy. I had all along longed to keep poultry but was always limited me was the fact that I didn't have somewhere to restrain them. Now I feel settled in mind because I have achieved my goal
What did you spend your first transfer on?
With the transfers that I received, I used it to purchase wire mesh and some iron sheets for the construction of a poultry house since I am planning to venture into poultry keeping. This will enable me generate some additional income through the sale of eggs. The other amount was used by my husband to boost his business of buying and selling cows

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have normally envisage myself as a large scale poultry farmer and intend to make this a reality thanks to GD cash transfer. Therefore, receiving this money means I'll be able to expand my poultry house and enclosed it using a wire mesh so as to keep my chicken away from the predators and destruction of other people's crops in their farms. I intend also to add more chicken so that it will increase my income from the sale of their products.
What is the happiest part of your day?
After finishing my daily household chores in the morning, I spent the rest of my daytime on my nearby farm cultivating crops, weeding and transplanting. Later in the evening, I get some vegetables from my farm and take them home for supper. After taking supper with my family, I help my grandchildren do their homework and at this time we connect with them as we share some jokes. This is the moment that I normally feel happy for being close to them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been experiencing lots of challenges from my poultry farming business both internally and externally. This is because they are on a free-range system and therefore are being eaten on a regular basis by predators. Moreover, they also cause destruction of people's crops on their farm and I have been having perennial quarrels with my immediate neighbours. I had almost given up my passion of one day being a large scale poultry farmer making this the biggest hardship I have ever experienced.
