Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On October 21,2021 during the morning hours, I was on my way to my farm to do some work there than I heard an alarm on my phone. I stop on the way and decided to come back and ask someone to help me explained the message. The person that I asked to help me told me that I have received money from GiveDirectly on my mobile money account. When he told me, I was so happy that day because it was surprising to me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have been hoping to build on the land that my brother gave me for a long time now over six years but there was no money to do it. Now that GiveDirectly has decided to bless me like this, I am now we'll able to start and complete my house project. I think my dream of having my own house will come to pass.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I haven't used my first transfer yet because I am waiting for the remaining transfer to come in my account. I have decided to build a house for my family; my brother has already given me a piece of land where I can build for free. I will use my transfer to start and complete my house project that is why I don't want to rough things.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I planned to send my son to University at the same time construct a house in Monrovia for him to live in while attending school. I want to build a house in Monrovia because our parents were not able to secure a plot of land there and Monrovia is not far from here. I have purchased the plot of land already and I am working towards the finance for the construction work. I already have a house here in this village. If I built the house and am still left with balance, I will buy goods and start a dry goods business here. I was into the dry goods business before but my son's school business make me went out of business because I used all the cash I have for his school, currently he is 20 years old and is out of secondary school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Just this month, my brother's wife surprised me with some use clothes, and that brought joy to me. Imagine, I was not expecting it, so I was happy about it. But overall life has been difficult with me since my spouse died.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Finance is my main challenge now. I want my son to attend university, in the absence of finance, my dream of educating him will not be a reality. Imagine, his father died two years ago and I am the only person responsible for him. After my husband passed away, I have not been able to come across someone who will be able to help me. I have to wake up early in the morning to go on the coal-based to burn coal and sell it to sustain him and me.
