How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer since I managed to supply school uniforms to a nearby school. I had secured a tender to supply the uniforms yet I had relatively inadequate funds and was wondering what I could do to finance the project. Luckily, GiveDirectly's financial boost came at the right time. Hence, I am enjoying a great reputation and huge profits from the business - something which could not have happened if not for the transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in the way it selects people who could benefit from their programs. There were no favoritism, nepotism or discrimination of any nature. Thus, virtually all the residents of our village received the transfers. Therefore, I find nothing that the organization does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent all my second transfer (53000 KES) on expanding my business of buying and selling clothes at my neighborhood.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am really greatful to Give directly. This money means slot to me because I will be able to buy a cow so that I get my own milk. This place being a dry area, I will buy a tank to collect rain water so that I don't strain fetching water from the dam far away.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning because it is the beginning of a new day with signs of hope
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Job loss is quite devastating. In the year 2009, my husband and I lost our jobs almost at the same time. We used to work in Nairobi though at different places,.That was the biggest hardship because after some time of being jobless we just decided to come back home.
