What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase an ox, food items, household items, paid for ploughing and weeding. I have not yet spent UGX 270,000 but I am planning to spent it for making bricks.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by giving me cash that I spent to buy cows and paying off the debt that we had. GiveDirectly has not done anything bad in my opinion .
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Through the GiveDirectly's cash transfers, I have been in position to acquire 3 cows. In addition, I am expecting increased yields because I have planted crops(maize, ground nuts and cassava ) in a large scale of land as this money enabled me buy seeds and pay for ploughing in time. Previously, I didn't have cows of my own and I had reduced yields because I didn't have enough money to buy seed and pay for ploughing.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase a cow, clothes, food, seeds(ground nuts and maize). I paid off a debt worth UGX 200,000 and in so doing, I was able to repossess my piece of land that had acted as security. I also gave my in-laws UGX 70,000 and hired oxen at UGX 60,000.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I became very happy because the money came at a time when my in-laws were about to pay me a visit and I didn't have enough money for hosting them.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
This financial support has enabled me own a cow, feed my children on balanced diet and they now healthy. I also got back my piece of land that had been taken by the money lender. Previously, I didn't have a cow of my own, my children were sickly and I was told in the hospital that they had lacked a balanced diet. I had only one acre of land that couldn't produce enough yields to support my family.
