How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life is now different in that I have a taxi motorcycle providing daily income. Household items acquired like utensils add life to my house, and there's enough cultivation land re-possessed after paying off a standing debt in which it was used as security. Before, I used not have cultivation land, not enough household items to even host a visitor, and no source of daily income to support life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving out money that has changed people's livelihood like building permanent houses, while it doesn't ask anything in return. In addition, they provide advice on how to secure your money which remains permanent in a person. There's nothing it hasn't done well in my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent to purchase seeds, pay labour of ploughing gardens, planting and weeding. I also bought a third-hand taxi motorcycle and the rest spent on feeding.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
This financial support is enabling me achieve my dream of constructing an iron roofed house. I have been relieved from the debt burden that I had which has given me a peace of mind. I also have a new mattress, bed sheets and utensils. Before, I had very old household items that were not presentable at all whenever visitors could come. My grass thatched hut is in bad shape which is not safe for a living and I had unpaid debt.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I became very happy because GiveDirectly had honestly fulfilled its promise to me.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase 2 trips of bricks, 2 trips of sand and 10 bags of cement at UGX 1,240,000 that I intend to use for constructing a permanent house. I also cleared a debt at UGX 300,000 and bought household items(mattress, bed sheets and utensils) at UGX 100,000. I have not yet spent UGX 60,000 but I plan to spent to pay labour for construction.
