How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
In comparison to if I never received the transfer, my current life is way too different. I have taken a lot more steps ahead which would not have been possible without the transfers. Among the completed projects are; extension of the existing house, purchase of livestock, improving poultry project and also ensuring the availability of enough foodstuff in our household.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, the work by GiveDirectly really brought a great impact on most of the families in our village. This was a work well done since it gave everyone an opportunity to invest in anything they feel they need it more. Many households managed to build new houses while others bought livestock.
It id now our feeling that GiveDirectly would have come back to check on those who never received the transfers, try enrolling them afresh and making them receive the transfers like other villagers.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
After receiving the second transfer, we had a plan to put them in several uses to first ensure that we complete the initial projects we had started and also used the remaining in starting new projects. Among the already started projects were the expansion of our house by extending another new room, obtaining new furniture, and also buying foodstuff. We also had to factor in assisting our two daughters who are still staying with us in our household, sending some amount to my husband who was not at home and also paying school fees for my two grandchildren both in primary schools.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that I now have a high breed cow. I have been yearning to buy a good cow which can help me feed my family. Before I use to have a cow which when it lactates I would hardly get a liter of milk. I can see now that will be something of the past having a high breed cow which will give high yield.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that i'll be able to buy dairy cattle, furnish my house and further education for my children. Thank you very much GD.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I get something for my family to take for supper.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been through a very complicated and stressful relationship with my husband. He never valued education and this made my first two sons drop out of school due to school fees arrears. As a result I had to endulge myself in brewing in order to cater for their younger siblings' education until they were done. Now I am a born-again christian but the above experience will always be the biggest hardship in my life.
