How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is much better because through these cash transfers, I managed to acquire two bulls which will help me this coming season to cultivate on time and get good yields. In addition, I also bought a bicycle which has simplified my movements and work like collecting water and crops from the farm. Previously, I moved for long distances and hired other people's bulls.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money for buying 2 bulls for ploughing my farm land. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life has greatly changed in that, I live a much more exciting life. This is because I bought an ox and a bicycle for my self. The ox will solve the agricultural problem I have had for long and the bicycle will improve on my means of transport. Previously, I ploughed my farm land late since I didn't own an ox to plough it on time. In addition, I struggled transporting my sick family members to the hospital hence I carried my children on the back and would make my wife foot up to the medical center for lack of better means. But all this is now history because of the bicycle I bought with the GiveDirectly transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I saw the message of the transfer in my phone, I was overwhelmed with joy and it resulted in me losing my sleep hence I stayed awake on my bed till day break. Receiving this transfer also marked an end for most of the problems I had in my life for example late cultivation and transportation.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer was spent on buying a bicycle of Ugx 200000, an ox worth Ugx 800000 together with a spray pump and the medicine at Ugx 80000. I also bought clothes and food at Ugx 400000 and I intend to use the balance for buying an ox plough.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan is to oxen and ox-plough with this transfers. Iam so much relying on farming as main source of income but I get very little from it due to limited of labour. The oxen will help me maximise on cultivation and planting since they are going to be my added labour force. This can lead increase in production hence less poverty in future at my home .
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is evening hours. I toil the whole day working inorder to get what can maintain my family and only relax off some stress by playing foot ball at Olilim field pitch. My mind gets refreshed and I feel physically fit to engage in to next days activities.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. I purly rely on crop production and this is so much unreliable due to the unpredictable rain partners and pests hence some time I work for a loss. My family members lack household items and feed without proper diet. This has caused malnutrition amongst the family members.
