What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Establishing a reliable source of income to depend on is my greatest desire. This is because, I am currently jobless and I feel my life is so tough when it comes to meeting my very basic needs. To end this menace, I intend to start a small business of selling dry fish at our trading center. This job will cost me $200 of my transfers. Also, I plan to buy 4 goats at $200 that will act as my long-term investment project to support my children in the future. The remaining amount will help me to support my children in school as well as repairing my house and purchasing of new beddings. Hence, this is generally what receiving this money means to me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
A family's happiness can be obtained when there is enough food. Provision of food to my family of 9 was a hard task to me because I lack a job to depend on while my husband's wine tapping earns him very little. Fortunately, it was a great sigh of relief to have harvested enough food that can sustain us for a period of 5 months. This is something that I am grateful about and I consider it as my source of joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My husband is a coconut wine tapper, a job that can not be relied on because it's income is very low, usually $7 per week. This is very minimal to support a family of 9. To an extent, my children's education is highly affected since most of the time, they are sent out of school. What a life! As a mother, I have felt the pain of desperately watching them at home. Hence, I consider the lack of a reliable source of income for my household as the biggest challenge.
