Owning the pair of oxen has made my life to be so different so far. I am so sure they will help me in my farming activities. I always hire the pair of oxen from my neighbours and sometimes do the tilling by myself when I fail to afford the fee. But with the pair of oxen that I have, I will be able to plough at ease and to add on that I will be hiring them to my neighbors at a fee. This will be my major source of income since in my village there are few people who own the oxen hence the demand is high. Had it not the coming of GiveDirectly, I could not have achieved all these.

In my opinion GiveDirecty has brought a positive impact in my village. First, most of us now have livestock like cows and many more. We were not expecting to own them anytime soon because of our financial difficulties. Secondly, the number of children going to school has really increased. This is because previously some were dropping out of school due to lack of school fees. But the coming of GiveDirectly has made everything to change positively. All children are now in school studying without any disturbances. Lastly, the permanent houses that we own. Majority of us could not imagine someday we could sleep under such descent houses which are iron roofed. It was really hectic especially in winter seasons, our hats were ever leaking. Thanks to this organization for coming into my village. I have never heard or seen people complaining about this organization because it has done a perfect job in my community.

I spent part of my second transfer on buying some building materials for finishing up the construction of my house. I had started constructing it using the first transfer but the materials got finished. Currently, the house is complete. I then bought an ox plough for my ox which I had bought it using my first transfer as well. I then cleared fees arrears for my children to avoid the issue of being sent home every now and then to collect school fees. With the remaining amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs for my children and I.

The biggest difference that the transfer has brought in my daily life is that it is only through GiveDirectly money that I was able to buy an ox, which previously I didn't have. I am planning to add another ox so that they can make a pair that will relieve me of the burden of hiring from neighbours. This has been costly, and with a pair, I will channel the money on other projects.
