Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The big difference in my life is that this cash transfer has enabled me to purchase construction materials for constructing a decent iron roofed house for my self. Being an asthmatic person this house will improve my health as it will be dust free. Currently, I am sleeping in a hut which is dusty and I often get asthma attacks.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the money, I ululated and thanked God for directing GiveDirectly to come and change my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used my first transfer for buying 2 trips of bricks, 1 of sand, 9 ironsheets, 10 bags of cement that I intend to use for constructing an iron roofed house. I bought a mattress, a blanket and used part of the money for treatment.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. The one that I sleep in leeks. Grass is scarce these days and at my age, I am not able to look for it.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I wake up healthy. I feel no pain and I am able to interact with other people freely.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is sickness. I feel pain on my chest and back and I believe it is as a result of domestic violence. My late husband used to beat me a lot. I am not able to work as I would wish to because of the pain that I go through.
