How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had I not received the cash transfers, I would not have completed the construction of my house. My family is happy because I can afford food and other basic needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well by sending money to the poor. GiveDirectly also does well by visiting the vulnerable and the needy through conducting follow ups. However there is nothing that GiveDirectly has not done well so far.

I spent my second transfer to buy construction materials (iron sheets, cement) worth UGX1,400,000. I spent UGX143,000 to pay the builders. I also bought some food with the second cash transfer.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I am now a happy person and free of stress.

The moment I received my first cash transfer, I got over whelmed with joy.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received my first cash transfer worth 1,700,000ugx, I bought twenty five iron sheets worth 1,000,000ugx, twenty bags of cement worth 580,000ugx, I used 100,000ugx for paying the builders and 20,000ugx was spent on food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be in position to construct an iron roofed house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I wake up healthy because I know I will be able to accomplish my tasks of the day.

The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to facilitate the needs of the family.
