Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy the moment I received money from GiveDirectly. The money came at a time when my helper was with the phone and it was not until morning that I learnt that I had received my share. I could not contain myself when I learnt that I had received money from GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is the fact that I have improved my house. I have plans of buying additional livestock for keeping and this will greatly improve my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used KES 10000 to buy a 1000 litres tank and used KES 20000 to buy building materials and used another KES 5000 to buy clothes. The remaining amount was used to buy food and I am still remaining with KES 20000 that will be used for farming and food for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means food security and mental stability to me.I am an elderly and sickly woman who depends on my children for provision.Farming which was my main source of income failed in the past 3 years because of my health condition and also due to crop diseases. With this money I plan to buy a dairy cow worth KES 40000. Buying a cow will facilitate the continuous availability of milk which boost my health status because of it's nutritional value .
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite being elderly and sickly my children have continuously supported me.This has given me the joy and hope to progress in life.I am extremely happy because my children ensure that I get enough food everyday as well as give me company.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Mental stability is the biggest challenge I have now.My daughter suffered stroke at her teenage stage after the demise of her father. This has stressed me so much because I have been unable to get her treated because of financial limitations.Am elderly too and I have problems with my joints .Working in the farm as I used to do before is problematic hence all these problems.
