Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was the most happy moment of my life. I was just living a normal life and I never imagined a life like this. I am so grateful and God bless GD for remembering my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
So much has changed in my life. I feel like I am living a new life in a new world. Since the transfer, I have managed to buy more food than before. I have also managed to invest much in agriculture this year than before. I am also very sure that my harvest will be greater this year. I have bought farm inputs such as fertilizer and hoes which I couldn't have managed on my own. I have also managed to start a business which I have been desiring most. I am so grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been experiencing hunger almost all year around. This is because my harvest was so low. When I received my transfer, I bought 7 bags of maize for food processing. I also bought beddings such as a mattress and blackects. I have decided to produce more food this year so I bought farm inputs such as fertilizer and hoes. I also hired labor at the farm. I also started a business of selling second hand clothes and shoes. Part of the money was also used to buy kids clothes. I have saved part of the money to support my day to day needs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I believe that I am very lucky to be enrolled in this program. I am very happy that finally my household has been enrolled. I will use the money to buy food because this year I did not harvest enough maize. Since another project has built a house for me, I will use some of the money to buy beddings and utensils so that I should have all the things that I need in my household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest when I have enough food. Sometimes when I have had some good food such as fish and meat. This makes me happy because it means I have a break from eating vegetables.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge that I face is that I do not have enough money. I depend on piece work in order to make money and the money that I earn is not enough. I also face the challenge of not having enough food because I do not earn a lot of money.
