What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on clearing my Hospital bill after a complicated delivery of twins (39,000 KES), and also on treatment (10,000 KES) for my late mother in law who was sick but died anyway.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because I am alive and well! It happens that I was expectant but had problems right from the word go, such that my delivery was complicated and consumed most of the third transfer with my twin daughter dying, but thank God for GD Transfer that made it possible for the situation to be managed, and my twin son survived and is alive and well. I thank God because if it were not for the transfers we might all have died!.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD’s enrolment process targeted the right people, with wonderful results for GD and beneficiary fraternity. However, GD Community Entry process was a little weak in that a lot of people do not attend Barazas and were not therefore really aware about who GD was. This created suspicion, and is probably the reason many people refused to participate in the Project. I feel there should have been better mobilization and several awareness creation meetings before beginning the Census and Registration.

The biggest difference in my life is having recovered from maternal health problems which was really worrying me. I was very sick and would have miscarried if I didn't have money for treatment. Thanks to GD for saving my life.
