How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly came with this program, I was challenged to pay for my two children's school fees but through the help from GiveDirectly, I was able to achieve my goal of supporting my children in school. My new goal is to build another house because I have a large family that can visit me at any time so having a bigger house will be a help to me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by putting their recipients first in everything, I have noticed the respect that has been given to us from GiveDirectly and I admire it so much, the program is also truthful and fair; I don't know anything bad about GiveDirectly for now, everything is okay.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive the money I will use it to pay my children school fees. I decide to use if for the school fees because the coal I am selling to send them to school I don't produce more of it again. Thcoal work is very hard. Besides, I can spend more money to produce the coal , but it is sold for small money. And again, the small money paid for the coal, I used most of that for food. As the result, I am not able to pay their fees. Although the school they are attending is a public school and government pay the teachers. But their are other teachers who are volunteering. As such, we the parents need to give them compensation at the end of every month. In addition to what I will do when I receive the money, I will renovate my house and add additional rooms on it if the money is more.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was very happy this August when my son was promoted to 6th grade. I was happy because the money I paid for his fees, was not a waste. Because of this, I had joy at that time.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenges I got here are: 1. The issue of sleeping place. I only one room and when my bigger children are here, it is a problem to find lodging for them. 2. Another challenge is how to pay my other children that are out of this community school fees . Because every school year, I have to send 15,000LD to them. 3. Lastly my wife has put in for divorce. And that is really a worry for me. Maybe when I am successful to receive this money,I try will and talk to her to come home.
