How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am a farmer and I would spend alot on preparing land for farming and having my own oxes and plough, it will be much cheaper for me to carry out farming with less struggle. I am hopeful that in the near future I will be tilting more piece of land thus improving my production.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well by giving us the money and more so the permission to budget for it. From my observation every beneficiary put the money in good use.
I didn't see anything which wasn't done well by those who were task to enroll and disbursed the cash.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The second transfers which I got from GiveDirectly, I spent KES 40000 on buying four young bulls at a cost of KES 10000 each. My main reason for buying four of them is to rear and train for ploughing. The remaining portion of approximately KES 12000, I spent it on purchasing foodstuffs for my family and buying clothes for my family members.
