How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Honestly speaking, everything I had planned to use the transfer on was a complete success. I bought fertilizer, maize, a bed, mattress, and paid school fees and clothes for my child without the usual financial constraint that I have

Before the program I had run out of money to complete major construction elements on my house namely roofing and plastering. So when this opportunity arose, I made sure to buy iron sheets and cement to complete the construction so that I would live in the house of my dreams.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when i received the transfer. I knew that my kid will go to school now.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
So much has changed, i have iron sheets on my house and am now working on plastering it. I also have enough food. Above all, i have peace of mind now. I use to think a lot in the past. It was really had to make both ends meet.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had a house which had a poor loof so i bought iron sheets so that i can fix the roof. I also bought bags of cement, Mattress, some bags of maize. I also have a child who is schooling, i paid school fees for that child and i also provided learning materials for him including shoes. I also bought clothes for my family members.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will use the money to finish my house that am building as well as other house utensils. This will also extend to making sure there is food for the family. I will also buy goatsto be rearing for sale in the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Mornings when I get to seek pieceworks in other people's homes.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I was sick for a very long time and got temporarily deaf hence life had been a bit diffult for me in interacting with others.
