How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving my transfer, I have been renting for 5 years in this Village. I am a civil servant worker but not well and regularly paid by government. Caring for high numbers of family without receiving stipend is frustrating. Some of my Children are currently living with extender family members due to hardship. Now that I am successful to received transfer from Givedirectly, my new goal is to build our own house to avoid paying rent in this Village. The Liberian civil war destroyed our properties and I am still finding it difficult to replenish our lost. I believe that with receiving Givedirectly transfer, my suffering will be over.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GiveDirectly is doing well is the system of sending recipients money directly to them without any one interference if GiveDirectly was to send the transfer through Government, no one could benefit. For areas of improvement, Givedirectly has to really needs to put strong monitoring team in place who will monitor some recipients on how they used the transfers.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used some of the money to pay my children school fees . Atleast I am free from worries about to handle school fees payment . Secondly, I paid for one lot of land in Buchanan to start building our house. I have purchased 25 steel rod and 12tensions wires to start constructing our house foundation when the next transfer comes. I really appreciate GiveDirectly for the cash support. I believe that with my transfer, my family and I lives will better.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt relief when I saw my transfer. My children registration and school fees have been like burden for me. I was worried about getting money to pay their fees. I was at work when I saw the transfer. I was very happy. I am a civil servant, but the government does not pay me on time. I was just about to go and appeal to the school administration to allow my children in school and give me time to hustle for their fees when I saw the transfer, I got relief immediately. I am very happy because with the gift from GiveDirectly my children have started school.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I received this transfer and paid my children fees, l am stress free. I now have peace of mind. Unlike before, I was very worried about my children education because their future is my major focus in life. Seeing them well dress very morning in their uniforms and walk to school brings me joy. The biggest difference in my daily life is I'm now relax, stress free, and I have a peace of mind. I look forward to a bright future because my children are in school. GiveDirectly, thank you.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been worried about my three children school fees, because three months now the government has not pay my salary. I was in the mood of going to appeal to their school administration to admit them and give me time to find their money when I received my transfer message from GiveDirectly. I immediately went and paid my three children registration and school fees. I know my children will be great tomorrow and my life will change. I really thank GiveDirectly for my transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
First i want to pay my children school fees and build a house for my family. Because the house my family live in right now is my late father house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was relaxed when i move from the first house i was staying to another house. Because the first house i was staying, the owner of the house was giving me hard time. That's what brought me joy and happiness in the past 6 months.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge is finance. The money I'm working for is not enough to take care of my family.
