How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have desired to buy a new motorcycle to start a transportation business. Before encountering GiveDirectly, I was working as a casual laborer on the Gold mining field. Because of the difficulties we face as laborers, getting sufficient finance from this job to better my life has been so difficult, and my plan has been to quit and find another alternative of getting income to feed my family. I have received financial assistance from GiveDirectly for three months and I'm awaiting my last payment to go ahead with my plan of getting a new motorcycle. With this new business venture that I'm about to engage in to, I'm optimistic that I will earned sufficient income with in a month and I will be able to save more money to support my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I'm successful to receive this transfer from GiveDirectly, I will use the money to build a house and support my children in school. I do casual labour work as means to sustain the family, the money earn I use some to pay my children tuition and use the balance on food and other needs. I want to build a house in fish town because all of my children are in school there and I'm paying too much money for rent. Their mother is not doing anything, I'm the only person who is providing for the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy is when my wife give birth to a male child. It brought me so much joy because I have been wishing for a male children and God bless me with one, it's makes me so happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge I'm currently facing now is money. Even though I do casual labour work as means to sustain the family, the money I earn I use to send my children to pay my children tuition and used the balance on food and other needs. I want to build a house in fish town for my children because all of them are in school there and I'm paying too much money for rent. Their mother is not doing anything, I'm the only person who is providing for the family. I feel bad seeing my wife sitting home doing nothing, if I had money, she found to she going to start a business and take care of some responsibility of the home.
