Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has improved because this term I have managed pay off my children's schools on time as well as clearing the debts I had. My children are now very happy and are concentrating on their studies. Secondly, we can also afford to dress well. Before this cash transfer, I could pay school fees late. This is because I had to first sell off some food crops in order to get fees which also brought in another challenge of food shortage at home. However, I also depended on loans from village saving groups and we also wore worn out clothes.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I got money, I felt very happy because I got money for paying off debts and paying fees for my children.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Paid school fee and supplies for my 2 children who are both in primary and secondary level worth UGX 819,000, I bought building materials for renovating my house ( 1 bag of cement) worth UGX 28,000, labour worth UGX 30,000, bought clothing/ household goods( mattress, pair of bed sheet, blanket and utensils) worth UGX 269,000, bought Agricultural tools (hoes) worth UGX 20,000, bought food worth UGX 100,000, gift worth 20,000 and paid debt worth UGX 314,000. There is balance of 100,000 which I'm planning to spend on building a thatched house for my girls.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to educate my son . Iam finding it hard to raise money for school fees of my son studying in Bukedea secondary school because I do not have any income generatiing activity. My son may pass well at the end of his studies and get a better paying job once the fees is paid on time. He will be in position to help us and his family in future both economically and socially.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is afternoon hours after lunch. Iam able to plan for other aways of maintaing the family since I feel relieved as they are satisfied.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is sickness. My children are sickly and whatever I get from farming is spent on their treatment. It's unfortunate because I can not even save any thing to help in sustaining my family's needs.
