How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I am a happy woman who has gotten the opportunity of achieving my long term goal of plastering my house. My gratitude goes to GiveDirectly for the transfer which I used to buy cement and sand and also to pay labourers who plastered my house. Previously, I used to live in a single room house with a leaking roof and dusty floor which used to predispose me to jiggers infestation and respiratory-related attacks. I count myself blessed among those who needed the help most. Thanks to GiveDirectly for giving me a comfortable shelter.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by providing adequate safety information for its recipients and as a result, the majority were not victims of fraud related cases. Personally, I have not seen what GiveDirectly does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy building materials such as iron sheets, nails, sand and cement which I have used to renovate my house by plastering and expanding it as well. Previously I had an old and leaky iron-roofed house which I had been living in since the demise of my husband. Life had been hard since his death because the family spent all the savings to provide for their my children's basic needs. The remaining transfer I bought school uniforms, a table and a mattress as well Cementing my house has also made my work easier since I do not have to smear it more often like before. I am now healthier and happier because of the changes in my life brought by GD transfers

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Receiving money from GiveDirectly has really changed my life since I no longer consume a lot of time and energy looking for clay to smear my house every time so that it can look neat because my house is now plastered. I can now spend the time and energy on more productive work like working on the farm.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 8:00 am when I heard a vibration on my phone. I immediatelyy checked the phone and to my surprise, I had received money from GiveDirectly. It was such a joyous moment and I thanked God for the gift since I knew this marked the beggining of better life since I knew with the money I would improve my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Previously I had a clay house which was so weak and the wall used to fall off every time. This forced me to repair it every time which was tiresome and time-consuming. The moment I received the first transfer, I bought sand which I used to plaster the house. It's now in good condition and I believe it will last longer since I consider plastering it a long-lasting solution. Aside from that, I had worn out bedding which was uncomfortable sleeping, so I bought proper bedding which is more comfortable and healthy sleeping on.
