How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently, different from the way it was four months ago in that I'm assured of food security. This is because I got a good harvest after investing most of the previous transfers on farming. Food has always been an issue for my family because my family is big and I don't have a stable source of income. I am glad this year will be different because we had a bumper harvest this year. In addition to that, my business has also grown because I was able to boost it with the previous transfers. Life, in general, has become better and the future looks bright.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Pigs give birth to many children and in a year they give birth twice. For the next four months, I have the plan to save some of the money I get from Give Directly and purchase pigs for rearing. After one year I'll be assured of at least 16 piglets. In the future, I'll later sell the piglets in order to raise money for purchasing a cow. If all goes well, I will no longer languish in poverty.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I invested much of the previous transfers on farming and I'm glad I was able to get a good harvest. I believe that the crops we harvested in this season are enough to sustain my family until next year thus I'm assured of food security. This has helped me save a lot, and I am planning to start another business with the money I would have used to buy food. This will help me in meeting our other household needs with ease without depending on casual jobs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My aim is to raise money for purchasing a cow. Since cows are expensive, I'm planning to purchase a pig with the coming transfers so that after it has given birth I'll sell the young ones in order to raise money for purchasing a cow. Therefore, in the next six months, I expect to have bought enough pigs that will enable me to reach my target. I am hopeful that I will be able to reach my goal by the end of this year.

for Helida( The biggest difference in my daily life is that l am able to pay my granddaughter's school fees with less struggle as I used to do before. For this reason, my granddaughter has never been sent home for school fees arrears ever since I started receiving the money from Give Directly. This has given her enough time to concentrate on her studies and hopefully, this will help improve her grades. I am also able to hire people to work on my farm with the help of the transfer since I am now aged and I can not work by myself. This has to lead to improved production from my farm and I no longer spend money buying food such as maize any longer.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months l expect to have started to cattle keeping as my future investment, by buying one pig as a start and I am very sure this will mature very fast.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in that I now make more money than ever before, all thanks to GD transfers that have helped me expand it. I can now afford to take care of my personal needs without always seeking for financial assistance.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I ventured into pig-rearing a few months ago, but unfortunately, one of the pigs I purchased died of unknown causes. To revive this project, I wish to replace the pig, especially for breeding purposes because I was only left with a male one that cannot reproduce. Pigs are easy to maintain and require little attention, they also reproduce very fast hence the reason to invest in them
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My business has seen a lot of positive growth in the last few months because I have been investing most of my monthly transfers in my business by adding new products and new stock. I am happy that I now make more profit and I can easily take care of household needs without much struggle.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect the pig project that I am currently planning to be in full force in six months time. I want to be a well-known supplier of pigs to the local slaughterhouses in the near future and for this to become a reality, I would have to completely invest in this project.
