How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that i have managed to acquire another land that I will be able to plant sugarcane in large scale and get more profit as compare to before. This will also enable me pay school fee to my children with ease and even take care of my family needs without worrying. I am also very happy because I managed to buy my own dairy cow where I am sure of not spending money in future to buy milk as l used to do before rather I am the one who will be selling milk to the community and getting money for my family up keep.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly is an organisation that stands to it's word as you compare to other organisations. They told us that they give us money and true they did as they said. It was also a very good idea that they were dealing with people directly and not using third party.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to buy dairy cow as my future investment. I thought of buying dairy cow as a way of investment since I am planning to sell the calve after the reproduction and spend the money to pay school fee for my children . I will also get milk from it for my consumption and also sell some to the near by market and save the money for my children. Since my children are still very young, they are in primary school and very soon they will be joining secondary school and this will help me pay their fee with ease. I also spent the transfer on sugarcane plantation where I spent the money to buy seeds that I planted in my farm. Fortunately I have managed to harvest the first produce and spent the money I got to buy another peace of land where I will do large scale farming since we do not have enough land. The remaining balance I spent to television for entertainment this has stopped my children from going to the neighbours to watch television, where they were being mistreated.
