Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The feeling at that particular moment was wonderful. I couldn't believe that someone would be able to send me such a huge amount of money without asking for a refund. I took a reflection on what we needed to do as a family and settled on building a new house. My family and I had stayed in a grass thatched house and were always looking forward towards improving it.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a specious house to accommodate my family of six. Currently, we are living in one leaking grass roofed house. This has forced my other children to seek shelter in our neighbour's house. The cost of purchasing building materials and labour is around KES 25,000 for the house I have desiring to build. Having this house complete will relieved me from worrying the security my children during night when moving to seek shelter.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Recently, I thank God maize necrosis disease did not affect the little maize I had plant. I harvest a half sack of maize and it has sustain us for around 2 months now. This brought me joy since I was able to meet other family needs.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge we are facing currently is food insecurity. I used to cultivate maize for consumption but maize necrosis disease have been destroying them for some years now. We are left with no other choice but do casual jobs so as to meet this.
