How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes i do. At first i never had the goal to even build a house. Yes i used to admire people with good houses with iron sheets but to have such a goal i did not.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opion the fact that every household is visited and enrolled into the programme is a very good thing. There have come projects which just choose a small group of people but with this method there is no room for favoritism.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have managed to pay the builders and foreman to build and roof a new house for me. I used to own a house made from mud and with grass for a roof. Seeing how we are close to lake and rain water flows from the mountian to the lake, having a house made from mud leaves u in danger. I have also bought cement so that i secure the base of the house well.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I now have food. This is something that i have been struggling with, i did not harvest due to pests and i have been struggling to provide my family with food. I have manged to eat all meals of the day and i am happy.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought food with my transfer because i did not harvest any maize this year because my feild got infested with pets and i lost my whole garden. I have bought 10 bags of maize. I also have bought cement to plaster my house as it was never plastered when i originally built it. I did not have money and could not afford to plaster my house.
