How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest change in my life is that I am planning to renovate my house and the school fees burden has been reduced. My household was vacant with no basic items. However, I spent the cash transfer to purchase some house hold items like clothes, bedding and utensils.
The cash transfers have made my life so comfortable as compared to the past where I would have to borrow money to pay school fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has empowered many people through giving them the cash transfers that have enabled the poor to construct houses that they could not do in their lifetime. However, GiveDirectly has done good for the people though we still have many needs.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I am planning to spend my second cash transfer to purchase cement, sand so that I can complete the construction of my house and to pay school fees for my four children.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I recieved my money, I felt happy that most of my financial issues such as fees for my children would be solved.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part (ugx 800000) of my first transfer on buying a bull that will help me in ploughing hence extensive cultivation.
I then spent some ( ugx 600000) of my money to take back my five children to school. This is so such that they are not kept home as others are studying.
I am saving ugx 100000 as I plan to add up with the next transfer to renovate my house.
I then used the balance for feeding and taking care of some family needs.
