How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different since I started to received GiveDirectly's transfers in that I have built a spacious house that fits my family's comfortably. We used to live in a small mud house which could not host all my family members comfortably. My children had to spend their nights at my neighbor's and this made me worry of their safety because of the movements at night which posed a lot of security challenges on their side. Currently, with this spacious house they have their own room where they study and do their assignment without any disturbances. On the other hand, I no longer worry too much about how to get money and buy milk on a daily basis since I own a dairy cow. I am glad because GiveDirectly has enabled me to achieve this. Today, my children have their breakfast with milk tea unlike before when sometimes I couldn't afford to buy them milk.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did very well by giving transfers directly to beneficiaries without involving intermediaries this had enabled as get the required amount of money from the donors which has improved our live style as community. I do not see what GiveDirectly did not do well in their operations.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the money I received from GiveDirectly to cultivate sugarcane 40,000 KES and now I am almost harvesting it probably early next year which I anticipate good yields to double my income. I added my savings unto the remaining amount and bought a dairy cow worth 20,000 KES.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to build a new house, my house is cracked and may fall in case we experience long rains again. I have not been able to repair it because am a widow and every little money I get from the farm is used to pay fees and buy food to the family.
