How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The only that I can say I am proud of owning right now is the cow which I bought using the cash transfers from GD. What makes me happy is that I have been milking the cow so I do not have to be buying milk from neighbors or vendors at an exorbitant price.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a desire of building a new house because the house I have right now is too old and it is in such a dilapidated state. The only challenge is getting the required building materials which are always very expensive. I need to get a new house because the one I live in today may collapse on me even during at night when I am asleep.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
One big difference in my life is that I was able to buy one cow which has been doing quite fine. At my age, there was nowhere I would have gotten cash to buy the cow because I have no source of income.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I will make a plan on how to buy building materials so that by the end of around four months, I should be able to build a new house. I live in a very small house whose walls have been wearing off from time to time and today it is at risk of collapsing if nothing is done about it in the near future.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of a sustainable source of income. My spouse died last year and he was the sole provider, now that he is gone life is a constant struggle. But I am hoping for the best.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is around midday. This is when I am usually through with farm work and get to relax while having my lunch. Finishing my daily chores especially with regards to farm work always makes me happy.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy cement, nails, timber, sand and iron roofing sheets which I will use to repair my dilapidated house. It's in a bad state and I fear that it might collapse anytime.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having been a fish trader. I managed to save the profits from this work and eventually bought a cow which gave birth to calves. Unfortunately I had to sell the cow because it broke its leg.
