How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I'm still continuing my previous goal which is my house project.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No.I previously had a plan of building my own house but due to financial difficulties I was unable to do so.I am already old and still living in a family house with my grand children which is embarrassing. Hopefully ,this transfer has a great impact to improve my living standard. I am grateful to be part of this program.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GiveDirectly have done nothing wrong. They are infact the only organization that have brought positive changes in my life. GiveDirectly have made me to sleep on mattress that I couldn't afford for myself from youth till now. I am also about to build my house,pay my grandchildren school fees and start a new business because of GiveDirectly. May God bless GiveDirectly.

My worry have been building my house and my grandchildren school issue. I am now old to do farming works and my daughter is dead . There is no one to help me with her children. Therefore,I am going to use my transfer to buy two bundles of zinc and pay my grandchildren balance school fees. I'm also planning to use portion of my transfer to start a new business infront of my house to enable me to sustain my grandchildren and I.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My house is in a deplorable condition and needs to be renovated urgently. I'm also struggling to take care of my grand children but due to very low income, I'm unable to cater to their daily needs. Suddenly, while I was at home during the morning hours, I received my transfer from GiveDirectly. I was very pleased at that moment. I knew this transfer would financially equipped me to take care of my grand children. I knew this transfer would help me pay their school fees and I could use portion of the money to fix my house. I feel so amazed!
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly has been being able to see my grandchildren go to school every morning. Also, the biggest difference in my daily life is that my house is been renovated and improved. In the past, I would dig cassava, make gari and take it to the market to sell and get money before buying food to eat. I used to really suffer because of my age and doing such hard work. I am now living happily with my grand children because I can now have food to eat and pay my grand children school fees because of GiveDirectly. I am no longer suffering and worrying anymore.

When I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought building materials such as zinc, zinc nails, cement etc... I also used portion of the money to pay my grand children school fees. Likewise, the remaining portion of my transfer was used to buy a bigger mattress for me and my husband. I have been facing financial difficulties to reach these goals. I could not take care of my grand children and improve my house. However, I believe i have spend my transfer to my satisfaction and towards improving my children education and also my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I get this money I want to reconditioned my house and send my children to school; after I finish building my house, i want to sell my small small market, because i am old now and I can't do hard work again.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I'm happy because I see GiveDirectly and I will be receiving money to reconditioned my house and I will also be able to go to the hospital for good treatment.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge I'm facing now is that, my body hurts because of the old age. If I see this money, I will be able to go to the hospital for good treatment.
