Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was brushing my farm when I heard a loud shout from the town. I quickly rushed back home to inquire what was happening. I later found out that it was Givedirectly's money that arrived in the phones. I ran back at the network area to check my account and noticed that I've received mine as well. I shouted with joy; I danced around the house with excitement and my wife and kids joined me in jubilation. My wife and I started making plans around the usage of the transfer.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before Givedirectly came in our Village, my wife and I used to cultivate people's farm for a living which was a difficult situation for us. The little money we were being paid was what we survived in. My kids were also high school dropouts. But with the help of Givedirectly, I'm able to pay their school fees, buy materials for a new house construction and also buy fertilizer to start my cocoa farm.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought gas to cut planks for the construction of a new house. I paid my kids fees and saved the rest to add to my upcoming transfers and complete my house project.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive my transfer, I will use the money to build a better decent concrete house with a zinc roofing. I am tired of living in thatch roof house. Because during the rainy seasons, my family and I are forced to change position of of bed and other belongings in the house. I thought of building a better decent house has been on my mind for a long time but because of lack of money, I have not been able to make my plans come true.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When I am with my family at the evening having meal together makes me happy, especially when my children are healthy and we are sitting together eating and the smile from their faces bring me joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Lack of finance is my main challenge. Our source of income is very low. We usually dependent on the produces from our farm to sponsor our children's education and also get food, but the money from the sale can not be enough to settle all of our needs and sometimes, I have to do a daily hired Job to settle the remaining need.
