How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Seeing my children walking in tattered clothes which didn't fit them well was the greatest challenge in my life. I don't have a reliable source of income and the little I earned was spent on food thus I couldn't buy them new clothes. I'm glad this is not the case anymore because I was able to purchase them new decent clothes. In addition to that, I was able to construct a new kitchen which I couldn't afford before. This is how different my life currently is from how it was four months ago.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am currently focusing on ensuring that I use the required inputs on my groundnuts farm. I, therefore, plan to use all of my next transfers to prepare my groundnuts farm and to buy other farm inputs. This is in a bid to see that I reap maximum yields from my farm when the time comes. This is the only goal that I have over the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My life has improved in the last four months preceding the current transfers. This is because, through the GD transfers, I was able to raise enough money to buy building materials which I have already used to construct a new kitchen. The previous kitchen had a grass thatched roof. Grass being a scarce commodity nowadays, it is quite expensive to maintain it and for a long time, I have been thinking and working on how to improve it. Since grass is scarce, it was expensive to raise enough money to purchase grass for repairing the roof after every two months. At times I was forced to cook in the leaking kitchen because I couldn't afford the grass.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Currently, I'm investing in farming groundnuts. In six months time, they will be ready for harvesting. Since I do not have a reliable source of income I'm planning to sell them after harvest so that I can raise capital for starting a business. With the business, I'll have an additional income thus my living standards will improve.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life was losing my four young children. It is very sorrowful to loss young babies in a row. Thoughts about conceiving, delivery and taking care of children was a big worry because I was not sure of their survival. I was tortured and feared giving birth in my subsequent attempts.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I get to see a new day. I feel excited going to the farm and attending to my livestock at that moment. It is indeed a happy moment to me.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I intend tl spend my transfer on starting a small business in basic household goods. I will spend profits earned to pay school fees for my children and assist my husband in providing for the family. My husband is the only breadwinner in my household but our needs are becoming more of a burden to him. This will relieve him.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is buying a sofa set seat. I grew potatoes on half an acre piece of land where I earned a reward of twenty five thousand Kenya Shillings. From this earning, I bought the seat. I am very proud of this achievement because I had not even a single chair in my household then.
