Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference that this money has brought into my life is that I was buying milk for my family from a neighbour which was expensive and I never thought of owning cows for milking, but with the transfers, I have acquired my own cows which will not only produce milk for my family's consumption but also for sale.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
At first, I thought it was a lie, that GD won't be sending the transfers due to the experience I've had with other organisations, but on seeing the message, I was happy that the promise had finally been fulfilled. I thanked God and GiveDirectly for the money I received.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfer on two cows for milking for this is a project that is reliable in our area and which has good returns. Initially, I was buying milk from others who had cows but I now thank Givedirectly for the transfer since I 've been able to purchase my own cows for milking. The milk is for my household and also I can sell to earn an income. I spent the remaining amount to buy some goats to add to my goat shed. I am also planning to save some amount of the transfer to pay school fees for my son who has just joined a college.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to alleviate myself from abject poverty. Life has been tough on me, and I thank God my family's well-being will change for the better.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is because all the family members are at home at this moment and I enjoy spending time with them having completed our various daily activities.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I've faced in life is coming to terms with drought situation that befell us in Kilifi county last year but one. I lost thirty-two cows, and that almost brought my life to a stand still. It was a very difficult moment, I felt hopeless.
