How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been before Give Directly cash transfers in that, my standard of living has improved and feeding is nolonger a big challenge. Before this cash transfer, I used to put on one piece of cloth for a week and feed on one type of food due to lack of money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done well through empowering the poor community members with unconditional cash transfers which has improved on their livilihoods. I do not see what they have failed to do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second cash transfer worth UGX 1,633,000, I lent a friend UGX 600,000. I bought a goat at UGX 120,000, I bought clothes at UGX 100,000, my spouse has started a small scale business of UGX 200,000. I used UGX 113,000 for feeding the family and saved UGX 500,000 for weeding rice next year in order to be able to sustain the family.
