Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was able to build a bigger structure for my chickens that I normally rear in my compound. My child is also able to attend lessons without frequent disruptions due to lack of school fees.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I will generate money from selling my chickens and the cows that I intend to buy in the near future. I think such a business will be more sustainable into the future.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different because right now I have a good place to rear my chicken in a more comfortable manner. In addition to that I am not stressed with the issues of my child school fees like I used to do previously.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I am planning to buy a cow that I know will give birth in the long run, and if I sell part of the flock, I will be able to generate income for myself.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship was last year when my daughter fell ill and was admitted at a referral hospital in Kisumu, I had to dig real dip into my savings to ensure she was treated. I was not able to attend to my business since I was also attending to her at the hospital.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is usually at noon, it finds when I have overcome very many thoughts that might have come knocking in the night and I would be done with hectic family chores and plannings in the morning.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to expand my cereal business since that would help me next year when my son would be joining form one.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement was the purchase livestock that has since reproduced to a number of cows in my homestead. I am excited about this achievement as it was from the savings of little profits gathered from my cereals business.
