Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy the moment I received money from GiveDirectly. I had never received any money from anyone whatsoever especially in large sums like the ones that I received. The amount of joy that I felt was simply immeasurable. The thought of being able to accomplish the things that I thought would not be accomplished anytime soon was amazing.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the cow that I bought with the money received from GiveDirectly and t school fee that I was able to pay in time. This meant that my children were not going to be sent home for lack of school fees- at least not in this term. This gave me peace of mind and an opportunity to settle down and make other valuable investments going forward.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of my recent transfer to pay school fees for my children, part of it to buy a dairy cow and the remaining amount was used to buy food and other basic household commodities. The cow bought shall be of great of help to me and my family in future in that it will help me in paying school fees for my children and meeting other family expenses from the sale of milk.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I normally buy and sell milk from farmers in my village. Receiving this transfers is a big boost to my business because it will enable me to buy more milk hence get additional income to meet my needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I take stock of my daily income because it gives me a sense of fulfilment.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship hardship is that I deal with perishable goods. Sometimes, the milk I buy from farmers goes stale as a result of delays customers. Additionally, milk prices have dropped as a result of high supply. I used to buy milk at 30 shillings per litre and sell them at 37 shillings. Currently, I buy a litre at 23 and sell at 27 shillings. This means that my income has dropped by 3 shillings per litre.
