How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because I have managed to build my own home away from my in-laws who had become a problem for me. They used to make decisions for my spouse which made my spouse become abusive and my stay with my children was not peaceful but rather full of pain. In my new home currently, I make my own decisions hence my children and I have a piece of my mind thanks to GiveDirectly for making this possible.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money which has enabled me to build my own house on a piece of land I earlier purchased. However, in my opinion, GiveDirectly has done nothing wrong as it has helped me develop my life.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to pay my deaf son's school fees 18000 KES who is in a special school. The remaining part of the transfer I spent on buying building materials such as nails, iron sheets and timber which I used to construct a single room house to accommodate my family. This gives me happiness since I have been able to come out of an abusive married and having this shelter is the best gift I got from GiveDirectly.
