How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had not received cash transfer in that, before, I used to sleep in a grass thatched house that was leaking but now I sleep in a better iron roofed house hence improved standard of living.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done well by allowing the beneficiaries identify their own needs and design means of addressing. I do not see what they be not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my cash transfer for buying a piece of farm land at UGX 1,000,000, I have used UGX 20,000 for feeding and the balance of UGX 613,000 for plastering my house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have been in position to construct an ironed roofed house, which has relieved me from looking for thatch that is currently scares in our community, generally I have got a peace of mind.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I became very happy and thanked God for Give Directly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for purchasing, 2 trips of bricks at 610,000 ugx, 5 bags of cement at 140,000 ugx, Iron sheets at 196,000 ugx, a door and nails at 190,000 ugx, labour for building at 280,000 ugx, food at 110,000 ugx. I also bought a radio at 200,000 ugx and saved 100,000 ugx for future use.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money is going to build for me an iron sheets-roofed house so we also sleep well with our daughter.

When am fine and healthy.

It is the hardship of providing for the family.
