Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On October 21, 2021 I was on my farm doing some work when I received a message alarm on my phone. I quickly brought my phone to my friend that can read and write to help me explain the message. When he read it, he told me that GiveDirectly has sent me money on my account. When I heard it, I was so excited for the help that GiveDirectly has given me and I started dancing with my wife with so much joy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have struggling for a long time now on how to improve my farm, because the inserts where killing my crops all the time. Since GiveDirectly sent this first transfer to me, it has helped me to buy all the farming materials I need, everything is okay now. All the crops are growing good and producing more than before. I was also able to send my son to school with out stress and my wife business has also increased and improved as well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my first transfer to buy a water pump machine that helps me pump water on my farm so that it can make my farming process much easier. I also bought some chemicals that kill inserts on my farm so that I can have a better harvest by next year. I paid my son school fees with some of the money and I bought food for my family. The remaining amount was added to my wife business so that it can improve.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I receive money from Givedirectly, I plan to send my children to school because I know education is important for everyone. Since I never had the opportunity to go to school, let my children go to school. That I believe will be okay. I will also like to do agriculture and build my house because I do not have my own house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought me happiness is that when my formal wife bring me greeting from my son. She also brought me his photo that I have here with me and that he is in good health.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges I am currently facing is to get food to eat. It is my friend Stephen who's wife can cook and give me food to eat. Some time my wife goes to her people place and get something for us to eat. Now that her uncle who normally help us is not well, so things have really got bad for us. Even the mattress that I am using is my sister that give it to me because my first woman who divorce me took away everything that I had here.
