How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better now in that l own an iron roofed house. I had never thought I would ever sleep comfortably. Prior to receiving this money, I used to spend sleepless nights in a leaky grass thatched house. Thank you GiveDirectly.

GiveDirectly has done well by sending for me transfers which has enabled me to build an iron roofed house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life is better now in that, My standards of living have improved because I managed to buy some bed sheets, clothes therefore my dress code has changed compared to the previous one. I'm also so happy because my house is under construction and very soon I will no longer be bothered during rainy season when I have entered my newly built house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When my phone rang, I did not know how to check my mobile money account balance so I decided to go to my brother who helped check for me the account balance. When I received the news about the money from GiveDirectly, I became so happy because I will use this money to build a permanent iron roofed house. I was so happy because I knew my life was going to change for good.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
As we speak right now, I'm using my first transfer to construct a house. Currently, I'm occupying a dilapidated house which leaks during rainy season. When I received this money, I decided to built a house because each time it rains I have to fold off the bedding's to prevent them from being damaged by rain.

Receiving this money means to build ironroofed house for my family. This will provide better shade for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is afternoon especially after getting what to eat, I chatt with my children and this relieves me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. My family is faced with serious bitting poverty where by we heardly eat a day.
