In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does everything well. The money they gave us comes straight to us with no one take any, not even the staff
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I hope to complete the building of my house in the year to come and continue to pay my children school fees

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My main challenge now is cash to build my house because the money I am earning per month is insufficient to take care of my family and build a house. I am still renting as a township commissioner since my house broke down in 2017 as a result of rain. I will be the happiest if I am eligible to receive this cash grant from GiveDirectly because I am surely going to own a house which will restore my dignity.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My joy came in when my son call me in may to tell me that his Girlfriend give birth to a boy. What really brought me joy is that my son is 42 years old now and has never had a child. The news that I received of his first child makes me happy because his friends used to provoked him that he is old and don't have a kid.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to build my own house because the house I am living in belongs to someone else. Could you imagine this, I am the township commissioner for this area since 10 years but have not been able to build myself a house. I previously owned a thatched house but it broke down in 2017 due to rain. The money I am working for is not sufficient to sustain my family and also to build a house. I am not happy at all because of my status, not owing a house is a disgrace to me. I am confident the GiveDirectly will change my situation around so the my dignity can be restore because people are not respecting me like before.
