How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Presently, the house that I live in is very tight. It has become very small to accommodate me and my entire family. In so doing, I have decided to build a bigger house for my family and I. Therefore, as soon as I received my recent transfer, I purchased enough building materials and immediately started my building project. I am so delighted about this opportunity provided me by GiveDirectly. My life has changed completely.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my candid opinion, GiveDirectly treats everyone equally and fairly in their daily undertakings. They have given me the opportunity to improve my living condition through direct cash transfers. This has given me hope for the future. I am grateful to GD for all they do.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Currently, the house that I live in is very small and it has become uncomfortable for me and my family. Hence, when I received my transfer, I bought 3 bundles of zinc at $67,720LD each. The total amount spent on zinc to get my house roofed was $50,150LD. The money saved from my previous transfer was added to my recent transfer received from GiveDirectly to purchase the zinc for my house.I am grateful for this life changing opportunity.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My first and foremost plan for this transfer is to build my house. Doing raining season we worry so much of rain not wetting our belongings because of the trach we used as roof. When I am eligible i will build a zinc house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was able to sale my oil to pay my son school fees. That has been my joy lately.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My greatest challenge is house. During raining season we can be displaced because of the licking roof. I really want to build my house but there's no money to fulfill that dream.
