How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
So much is different right now. Things changed for the better. I now run a business, I even have enough money to run my children to the hospital whenever they fall ill. In the past I would just frustrate their bodies with home remedies because I could not afford healthcare. Above all, I am thankful that I finally got to renovate my house before it fell on someone.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am truly just grateful for receiving this money from your organization. I cannot say that there is anything that you did not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My house was infested by termites that were eating all of the wood and weakening the house structure all together. So with the transfer I bought 4 steel window frames and 4 bags of cement to facilitate renovation so that the house does not end up falling on us. I have also started selling fritters so I bought 20litres of cooking oil so that I can use it for at least a while. Then I bought a bag of maize to feed my family for this month while I raise money for more food.
