How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better now because I have plastered my house that used to be dusty, I bought an ox and a ox plough to facilitate ploughing and I have already secured my child's school fees for next year first term. Before, I borrowed oxen and hired some times when I had money. I was not sure of my child's continuity with education due to lack of money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to enroll me from home, they were no costs incurred for me to be enrolled. There is nothing bad with their work.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought 20 bags of cement for plastering my house. I bought a bull at UGX 800,000 and saved UGX 500,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means buying oven for ploughing. Farming is the only source of income for my family which supports in educating children, feeding, medial care and many more family needs. In our culture, we use oxen d ploughing because tractors are very expensive to hire. Currently, I hire oxen for traction because the two that a had were stolen by unknown persons which makes my family very vulnerable.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When I have eaten a meal, it puts a smile on my face. When I have made sure that my children have eaten, I relux with the children and make fun for the new day that is about to end.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Paying school fees for my children is my biggest hardship. I have one children in secondary education and two are in boarding primary education which is quite expensive to maitain. Our economic livilihood has been affected by the thieves and it's a bit of challenge now to sustain these children at school.
