Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy more especially to the thought of what I would get myself with the money. I am very thankful for your organization and pray that in the future such luck befalls my grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. It is such a rare thing in this life. May God bless your organization and your work abundantly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life is so much better now. I now sleep comfortably on a mattress and with a blanket over me. I no longer even go to bed hungry. Over the years I have terribly struggled making ends meet, food and other basic needs were a challenge.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my transfer I bought iron sheets so that I can build myself a house. I already have a house by my young brother has returned home from Namwera where he moved to in search for greener pastures. So since we are both adults, I plan to leave him my current house and move myself into the one I am building right now. I also bought myself a mattress, beddings, and food as these are all these that I struggled sourcing.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will build my own house because at the moment I am staying in my sister's house who is in South Africa. My wife divorced me about 8 months ago and I left her village that is why I do not have a house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening. This is so because after running up and down during the day, I do have something to eat at this time.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Basically, the biggest hardship I have faced in my life is poverty. Iam poor as I do not have a reliable source of income. This negatively affects my wellbeing as I face hunger almost every year.
